Add to Calendar WordPress Code Generator

I spent a few hours searching for a WordPress plugin that allows a visitor to quickly add a event to their calendar.

The goal: A button that when clicked on, it gives the visitor an option to add that date to their calendar of choice.

Unfortunately, the handful of plugins I discovered were either:

  • bloated and heavy with many many different features (I’m looking at you, Event Calendar plugin)
  • Or were just basic calendar plugins that didn’t do what was needed.

For a previous project, I do remember using AddToCalendar.com, a small app built with Javascript that nails the function that we need.

The bad part: It does require a bit of developer knowledge. Which makes it difficult to implement for WordPress users who aren’t familiar with reading code.

What I did was create a form to AUTOMATICALLY GENERATE THE CODE, so WordPress users can use it without having to manually write it! Huzzah!

How to Use it

  1. Fill out the form below
  2. Hit the submit button
  3. When you submit, you’ll receive code to then put it into your WordPress post or page.

The Form

Add to Calendar

Note: All submissions are deleted after 24 hours.
  • Event Date, Time, and Timezones

  • Date Format: MM slash DD slash YYYY
  • :
    This is using a 24 hour Clock. So 1:00 PM -> 13:00 5:00 PM -> 15:00
  • Date Format: MM slash DD slash YYYY
  • :
    This is using a 24 hour Clock. So 1:00 PM -> 13:00 5:00 PM -> 15:00
    For my users, these are the most common choices. If the time zone you want is to listed here, find the correct time zone on this list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tz_database_time_zones
  • Event Information

  • A physical location or a URL will work
